Who We Are

We are one of 165 chapters of Ikebana International in 60 countries world-wide, in existence since 1957. Our members come from the tri-state area and beyond.  Four or five times a year, we gather for program meetings featuring demonstrations by arrangers from various Ikebana schools or related cultural programs. We stage one exhibition annually in the New York City area.

Ikebana International, founded in 1956 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan is dedicated to the study and promotion of the art of Japanese flower arranging.  Representing all schools of ikebana, the organization has more than 8,500 members.  English is our official language. “Friendship through Flowers”, our motto.
